Buddy API is an Xtra which allows access to system functions. It contains over 200 functions to read and control system settings and to work with files and dialogs. It is available in both Windows and Macintosh versions. Version 4 adds support for Director 11 with use of Unicode file names on both platforms and support for Universal Binary projectors on Macintosh.

Buddy File is an Xtra which provides functions to read and write text and binary files, with optional BlowFish encryption. It can also save Director lists including most data types including strings, integers, floats, member.media, also with optional encryption. Buddy File is designed to work in conjunction with Buddy API, but does not require that xtra to operate. It is available in Windows and Macintosh for Director MX 2004 and 11.

MouseWheel xtra enables the use of the Mouse Wheel. It is a Windows only xtra and it's free. For a Mac version, please refer to Wheel Mouse Xtra by schmittMachine.

MoveCursor xtra positions the cursor anywhere on the screen. It includes Windows, Macintosh and Shockwave versions. Macintosh versions for PPC for Director MX 2004 and UB for Director 11 are included. This xtra is free.

Buddy Menu provides standard OS style popup menus. Available for Windows, Macintosh and Shockwave. The Macintosh download includes both PPC for Director MX2004 and UB for Director 11. A licence cost 40. Note that Buddy Menu is distributed as unlocked software and does not need a registration code to operate.

DropFile xtra allows the user to drop files on to the Director stage. Windows only. This xtra is free.

Buddy Tray Xtra creates a system tray icon for the projector. Windows only. This xtra is free.

The asUDP Xtra does UDP datagram send and receive. It is both an UDP server and client. It can communicate with any datagram UDP-enabled application on the internet (another Director movie using the same Xtra or another program using the UDP protocol, like processing, PureData, etc...). The asUDP Xtra can listen to any port on the local computer, the asUDP Xtra can send to any port on any local or remote IP address.

The MouseWheel Xtra allows lingo to get access to mouse wheel events. This Xtra is Mac only. For Windows version refer to Wheel Mouse Xtra by Magic Modules. Both Xtras have the same APIs and behavior.

The BytesXtra adds the 'bytes' datatype to Director. This was rendered necessary by the fact that since Director11, all lingo strings are Unicode and thus do not allow arbitrary binary data storage and retrieval. With this new datatype, fully integrated to Director, binary data can be manipulated. This Xtra is freeware and Director 11.5 has its own ByteArray data type.

An Xtra for Macromedia Director that does a FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) on live sound input.

The fluidXtra is an Xtra which integrates the fluidsynth software sound synthesizer into Director. It gives access to all the features of fluidsynth, and adds a few features, especially the ability to load sound files and sound cast members directly into the synth.

An Xtra for Macromedia Director that does a pitch detection on live sound input, i.e. it computes the note played or sung.

SmartOLE Xtra allows to display on the stage any kind of OLE document as a standard sprite. You can set its transparency and blending, and display other sprites in front of it. The xtra is especially useful to handle MS Office documents - Word (doc), Excel (xls), PowerPoint (pps). For instance, to create a sophisticated formatted text combined with images, charts, vector shapes etc. is much easier in Word than in Director directly. To display a document correctly its OLE server application is required to be installed in the system. This Xtra is Windows only and Shockwave safe.

MediaPlayer Xtra allows to play movies in all formats supported by DirectShow engine, e.g. MPEG, DIVX, AVI, MP3, WMF, WAV... DirectShow is part of DirectX since 6.0 version and guarantees multimedia stream decompression that is hardware independent. MediaPlayer Xtra has a wide range of possibilities: controlling play options from both Lingo code and its own toolbar, sound options (volume, balance), editing and control over the cue points, playing in a loop, changing play rate, full screen mode. All the options set in dialog window are available also in Lingo script. This Xtra is Windows only and Shockwave safe.

MediaPlayer Expanded Xtra is a continuation of our successful product - MediaPlayer Xtra. It has been enhanced with entirely new functionality, including adjusting video image parameters, digital zoom, fitting the video window into screen size, handling URL files. Most of designers of multimedia presentations in Director has a problem with sending e-mails from a projector. We decided to meet their needs and created MailTo Xtra. You do not have to use that uncomfortable "open" function to send e-mails any more. Now you can launch mail program from a projector, with subject, body, and recipient's address set. In 2.0 version we have added the ability to send e-mails directly to a mail server, without mail client. This Xtra is Windows only and Shockwave safe.

An amazing product to set shape of projector and MIAW windows. The only thing you have to do is to prepare a shape bitmap, load it to the xtra and... create a projector! No other xtra provides you with such a speed and comfort of use. Give the reins to your imagination, your window does not have to be rectangular. And if you want and are familiar with Lingo, you can change a window shape dynamically, gaining the effect of animation.

The end of problems with setting resolution in Director presentations! The comfortable dialog window allows you to set whatever resolution and color palette you need. The additional options guarantee more control over the presentation functioning. Your presentation will set its own resolution on any machine with Windows system. Moreover, due to DirectX library implementation, Alt+TAB keys use is proper.

Use regular or force feedback joysticks, steering wheels, touch screens, game pads and other gaming devices from Lingo. If your customer has DirectX 5.0 and above the Xtra can use it, but it also has the ability to use the default joystick drivers present on all Win32 systems. By being able to dynamically use either method your application can use most joysticks without asking them to install other software while taking advantage of advanced features when present.

The WinShaper Xtra can change the shape of the display window for a projector. A bitmap cast member can be used as a transparency mask. The projector can be reshaped into an elliptical, polygonal, textual, or spline shaped window. Stage borders can be completely removed and the projector window's corners can be rounded. Supports tooltips and user defined drag areas.

The PPViewer Xtra can control Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer and retrieve the tot style="margin:0px;"al slides in a presentation, query what the current slide is , jump to a specific slide, or step forward and backward between slides, as well as control window positioning and viewer application status.

Amplitude Xtra 3 allows Adobe Director™ movies to respond in synchronization with amplitude data derived from Director sound cast members. Amplitude data is an accurate representation of the relative loudness of the sound over time - in other words, it represents the waveform of the sound. The xtra works by scanning a Director sound cast member to generate a complete representation of the waveform, it then sends a continuous stream of amplitude values to Director projectors and Shockwave in sync with the sound as it plays.

AmplitudePro Xtra 2 allows Adobe Director movies to respond in synchronization with spectrum and amplitude data derived from Director sound cast members. Spectrum data is a representation of the relative power of frequency bands in the sound over time and amplitude data is a representation of the relative overall loudness of the sound over time - in other words, it represents the waveform of the sound. The xtra works by scanning a Director sound cast member to generate a complete representation of the frequency spectrum and/or waveform of the sound, it then sends a continuous stream of values to Director projectors and Shockwave in sync with the sound as it plays.
