The topic:
Well, I've been thinking about the topic for quite some
time now. And my offer is to talk about something I'd
like to call "The Director Community Effort".
What does that mean?
While we all have been complaining a lot since Director 11
was released, we haven't done much for the community lately.
I would like to discuss, how we all could contribute to and
profit from some better organized community work.
The whole idea is about "share a bit of your know-how and
get a lot of others' know-how" and "can we build a platform
where we display, publish, discuss and maintain all this
good stuff we could collect?"
I know there is "Director Online", "Mediamacros" and many
other great resources still existing out there in the web.
But it has become very quite over the last couple of years.
Don't you guys think, we can do better? Don't you guys think
we could revive the small but extraordinary creative community?
I'm pretty convinced, that we all could help improve the public
recognition of and interest in Director, because _we_ are those
who create compelling content with Director. We are those who
know what can be done with Director. We have proved it to our
clients over and over again. Can't we prove it publicly? Can't
we drive some more public attention to Director, if we build
a nice community driven platform and collection of helpful
tools, scripts and compelling experiments?
Sorry about this set phrase, but: "Yes, we can!"
I'm looking forward to discuss this with all of you.
So go ahead and share your thoughts and ideas.
Cheers,
Martin
